This blog is a part of my classroom activity.

Here are the answers of blog task (The waste land).

      1) What are your views on the following image after reading 'The Waste Land'? Do you think that Eliot is regressive as compared to Nietzche's views? or Has Eliot achieved universality of thought by recalling mytho-historical answer to the contemporary malaise?
Yes I agree with Friedrich Nietzche's concept of (ubermens) superman in also sparch Zarathustra seems to be progressive and forward looking in giving solution to the problem of contemporary crisis in faith and self. He believed that tradition value represented a “slave morality”. Which is created by weak and resentful individuals. While T.S.Eliot belives in god. We find many example in his work which reflect his idea about the god like,
“who is the third who walks always beside you? When I count, there are only you and I together but when I look ahead up the white road there is always another one walking beside you?”.

      2) Prior to the speech, Gustaf Hellström of the Swedish Academy made these remarks:

What are your views regarding these comments? Is it true that giving free vent to the repressed 'primitive instinct' lead us to happy and satisfied life? or do you agree with Eliot's view that 'salvation of man lies in the preservation of the cultural tradition'?

Yes I agree with Eliot’s view that “salvation of man lies in the preservation of the culture tradition: because he brings universality in his poem the waste land. He integrates various culture, myth, and religion. He detects the problems of the past and the problem periling during his time in the European civilization. He took references of Buddhism, Christian and he fined solution from Indian culture.
Thus the savalation of man lies in the preservation of the culture tradition.
