Tom Jones

    Generally in the novel main character is wise, honest, perfect in everything. But here in the novel "Tom Jones" the main character Tom is not like that. This novel is written by Henry Fielding in 1749. It is a comic and picaresque  novel. The Main characters of the novel are as under..

     Tom Jones called as  "Antihero" because he has affiars with so many woman like Molly, Mrs water, Sophia Western, lady bellaston. He is not Nobel by birth. But he is Nobel by his works and he help many person so it is his positive side. So we can say he is anti hero. If we compare Tom with Blifil so Tom is not noble by birth while Blifil is noble by birth. But by heart Tom is noble while Blifil not. Tom is not money minded while for Blifil money is important.

    Tom always helps to other for example when Molly is pregnant at that time also Tom except that he is the father of that child but in real he is not. So from that point we can say that Tom has helpful personality. Main themes of the novel are hypocrisy, realism of human being, loyalty, etc.  So, in the end of the novel he get the love of Sophia and he became happy.
       
      Thus, it is quite different novel than others because the main character "Tom Jones" is different. He is not completely good but he shows the reality of human. Because no one is perfect, everyone has limitations as same Tom also has his limitations.
