The Metaphysical poetry

  The metaphysical poetry arose as a revolt and reaction. Metaphysical poetry began early in the Jacobean age. The great English poet John Donne was the pioneer of this revolt. Metaphysical poetry is remarkable for it is concentrated emotion, intellectual and dramatic power. It is given to reflection and self analysis. John Donne writer of no imagination Shepherds and shepherdesses
But of his own intellectual, spiritual and love experiences.

                                   The meaning of the world Metaphysical is "Meta" means" beyond" and "physics" means "physical  nature". John donne is the founder of the metaphysical school of poetry. There are many poets who writes Metaphysical poetry like,

   The word Metaphysical poetry is first used by Dryden in  negative term. .John Donne's poetry may be called metaphysical poetry only in as remote as its techniques or style is related. Poets have always to know similarity between dissimilar object. Poet's used similes and Metaphors in poetry. John Done is great metaphysical poet. He wrote many metaphysical poems like
  The Flea,
  Death be not proud,

  The Dreams 
   
     So, Metaphysical poets used far fetched image in their Poetry. It is difficult to understand and it gives reflection and self analysis.
